Praha: Vyšla kolektivní monografie The Stars in the Classical and Medieval Traditions (Scriptorium)

Anotace:

SCRIPTORIUM, spolek pro nekomerční vydávání odborné literatury vydalo ve spolupráci s Ústavem pro soudobé dějiny a Astronomickým ústavem Akademie věd České republiky anglicky psanou kolektivní monografii „The Stars in the Classical and Medieval Traditions“.

Publikace přináší příspěvky k dějinám antické a středověké astronomie od odborníků z několika evropských zemí. Interdisciplinárně pojatá kniha propojuje odborné perspektivy historie, geometrie, kodikologie, dějin umění a dalších oborů. Seznamuje s díly učenců, jako byli Eratosthenes, Manilius, Aratus, Germanicus, al-Sūfī, Ptolemaios nebo učenci doby Karla Velikého.

Kniha vychází zároveň i v rozsáhlejší elektronické podobě (767 stran), která je rozšířena o pracovní přepis středověkých rukopisů obsahujících latinské adaptace Aratova díla (tzv. Revised Aratus Latinus). (SK)
